Senior Product Manager who builds what he ships

I’m Jay Shoemaker, a product manager who builds. For 15+ years I’ve taken products from idea to production across B2B ecommerce, SaaS, and hardware, owning both the strategy and the hands-on execution.

I’ve run PIM catalogs of 400,000+ SKUs, shipped full-stack platforms solo using AI-assisted development, and designed my own PCBs in KiCad. I do the customer discovery, the roadmaps, and the go-to-market. I also write the code and solder the board. That combination is the whole point: I close the gap between what a product should do and whether it actually works.

Gofer Parts | Blackwood, NJ

Digital Product Manager | Jan 2024 – April 2026

Owned the product and the build for a B2B parts business modernizing how it sells.

• Stood up a custom Product Information Management system as the single source of truth for 400,000+ SKUs, integrating NetSuite ERP with a Directus backend for real-time pricing and inventory.
• Conceived, architected, and single-handedly built Gofer Link, a production B2B partner portal that replaced manual phone and email ordering with a guided digital workflow for field technicians, an approval layer for managers, and a clean NetSuite interface for sales reps.
• Launched new product lines (Surface Prep and Golf Cart parts) after market research, creating the foundation for roughly $180,000 in additional sales.
• Built natural-language product search, letting customers find parts by intent (“squeegee for SC901 floor scrubber”) instead of part numbers.

Built and scaled a jukebox and karaoke rental company to market-leading position, then turned it into a live R&D lab for my own products.

• Grew to 1,200+ annual events with consistent 20% YoY growth across NJ, NY, DE, and PA, backed by a $250,000 angel investment.
• Designed and shipped the “Juke” booking and operations platform (AWS, Next.js, Google Maps routing, automated agreements and payments), cutting booking overhead dramatically.
• Engineered custom hardware in-house, from the Tower jukebox to the briefcase-sized TT-100 fleet still in service today.

Turned internal rental software into a global commercial product.

• Drove the shift from rental-only to worldwide distribution, reaching 10,000+ software sales across home users, venues, casinos, and hotels.

• Localized the product into 5+ languages and managed content licensing with music and video providers.

T-DSP, Custom Digital Audio Platform

Self-taught electrical engineering and PCB design to solve reliability problems with off-the-shelf jukebox audio. Designed modular DSP boards in KiCad with working prototypes, targeting use as a digital mixer, effects processor, and studio interface. Proof that I follow a problem all the way down to the hardware.
